Looking to replace the brake pads on some 2nd hand SRAM Guide R brakes I bought.

Anyone had any good/bad experiences with some of the cheaper replacements?

Thanks

I've just ordered from Uber with the discount, although I had to get the more expensive Shimano pads as they have sold out of semi-metallic and aren't expecting any in for ages. Superstar have now got them back in stock after weeks of having none...doh.

    My experience:
    - Superstar/Discobrakes pads are fine, didn't like Disco's packaging but they may have changed it now. Pads are usually a bit fatter than OEM so push your pistons well back or sand down beforehand.
    - Seen some horror stories about Clarks, but also about apparently genuine Shimano pads.
    - Fibrax OK but expensive
    - Had some BTwin ones from Decathlon once, cheap and didn't seem any worse than others
    - Never tried Uber or Wezmoto

Guys from work have bought cheapest they can find on eBay/Amazon and not had any problems.

Interesting as think i'm due a new set in my front brake heard a scraping noise on a short ride other night.

I do have 4 packs of race matrix pads worth sticking some in my front brake or saving them for another time?

Are the WMD proper ogranic or semi metallic but labelled up as organic as some are i've seen arent fully resin based.

I've gone with some Uberbike semi-metallic pads. Fitted them last night. As the bike isn't on rolling yet, I can't comment but look pretty good.

Semi-metallic are good for the winter but make sure you bed them in properly.

Those are fine but i just didn't get on at all with Kelvar pads they wouldn't bed in on my xt brakes.

Resin, semi metallic or sintered for me.
