Today is WFH, which means I may get time to clean my race bike later! Or more likely walk the dog whilst the way talks about every detail of her few hours 'work'
Not much snow, had to brush some hail off the car but that's it.
Nice dry ride into the office, didn't seem that cold either.
Queue for the shower again this morning, suppose it's good that there's more people riding.
No snow down here in the tropics. Was talking to big spending Aussie customer and he was saying it 38' today going up to 42' tomorrow. I hope Spinner doesn't have those temperatures for humping furniture, mind you they are probably a thousand miles away or something.
Short day for me as I have to take the female child up to Great Ormond Street for a check up. Doubt they'll say anything new or anything will change though.

Very light dusting of sneeeeer this morning enough to confuse the dog and make the deer more irritable than normal.
Work is amusing new manager appeared spoke to someone for a few minutes then vanished in a panic when he was told a brand new mac book pro had gone walkies (not me). Im doing the bare minimum last days next Friday so im using that as an excuse not to take on work.

Chilly ride in with a bit of a headwind, but dumping the bike in the basement to retrieve tomorrow evening as it's cider night tonight with some old Uni mates. Hopefully the cider will keep me warm as I haven't got a coat
Now stuffing face - this morning was the third lot of pedalling in just over 24 hours and the metabolic furnace has been turned up a few notches.

Nope, I did think about walking down to have a look but it's a mile or two and I wanted to go to bed. Felt very sorry for them, can't be pleasant, the mountain rescue were out trying to help people though. I saw the thunder-snow at about 9ish, I kept seeing flashes out of the corner of my eye for about half an hour before it came over, hoping the OH's gopro got some shots of it. Another amber warning for tonight, the novelty is starting to wear off and I want my new work laptop from Perth now
I agree, I have finally decided to start burning all the hardwoods I had stored instead of the 'softwoods of questionable origin' that I have been running on since we moved in. Also signed up to the Dumfries wood fuel collective and have had some interesting composite things to burn from them
All good as far as hospital were concerned. They’ve signed her off as there’s nothing more they can do but sending a letter for referral to get a bit more help locally and gave a few more pointers on things to try. So all good in that respect.

Very true. Half a tin of caramelised cranberry cookies last night while being pleasantly irradiated and watching Emelia Fox and chums doing implausible forensic work.
I now realise just how bad the 'special offer' bagged Aldi logs actually were. Definitely damp and probably softwood. I'd have taken them back if the disinterested girl on the checkout hadn't put them through as mashed potato, and the manager already given us a free bottle of wine when we complained that their offer price was no different from the individual bag price.

Is that the sole fuel you run yours on? I'm always deeply suspicious of supermarket deals but I found the Home Bargains actually had the best price of the Verdo compressed composite logs even compared to some of the professional suppliers. Unfortunately Verdo pulled out of the UK and someone has bought their Grangemouth plant so they aren't in at the moment. Have you tried the BSW 'Hotties'? Similar sort of thing, quite impressed so far
It's handy having some hard woods to keep the fire in for a couple of hours. If only I could get Ash in large quantities.
Damn ugly to look at but store it away and only bring in what you need at that time.
