  • That's a lovely bike - I have a real soft spot for Cervelos.

Is it new, did you get it in the sales they've got on at the moment?

How come you went with that Canyon seatpost? Also, what's the tool roll like? I like the profile of them, but unsure whether they're big enough / useful.

I picked up the frame/fork in the sales. Discounts are quite good as the 2018 version is a different model, not just a new paint job.

I picked the Canyon seat post because it's excellent. I've got two alu Canyons with VCLS seat posts and they are incredibly comfortable. I also like the variable set back of this particular version.

The tool roll is also pretty good. At the moment it's got a 25mm tube, 2x tyre levers, co2 cartridge, co2 head, Fabric 16-1 tool (they are very flat) and a Topeak Nano Torquebar. It's tight, but it fits.

    Got a higher res photo?

I've changed the host, so that might be better.

Yup, can now open in new tab and see in all its glory. :D

Are you still planning on doing Tri next season? The fact this is an R3 and not a P5 suggests not? :o

I've got a Fuji Norcom Straight for Tri (see sig). Currently only signed up for Windsor Oly, but will probably to Thorpe Park and an number of other local ones.

Lovely bike. How are you finding the ride?
Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.

I've only got about 20 miles so far thanks to the weather so not had too much time to make a proper assessment.

However, its smooth without being disconnected. I didn't want a magic carpet but the combination of tubeless tyres at 80psi with the stem / bar combo and the frankly amazing seat most mean that you feel the road but you don't get much chatter, if that makes sense.

  • Very nice indeed. The Silca roll makes you look classy!
