Morning folks, although it's the middle of the night really. Wide awake in spite of being knackered so I'm sat downstairs spewing drivel onto t'interweb. Thanks for all the kind thoughts, the old man picked up a bit late last night and called the old dear. Her and my sisters popped round to see him and were a bit happier as a result. He just needs to get over the operation then we need to find out what they can do. It's a question of managing his condition now and doing what they can to keep him going and pain free. If I ever see Jeremy Hunt I will have to take a swing at him, he really does have a very punchable face.

Yes VN, fingers are still crossed for him.
Ah, half term. Having no bambinos cluttering up the house, you lose track of things like that.

Yeah Saturday. Coffee, haircut, visit a mate...

Relative bludge otherwise today, a good thing. I have callouses on my hands from using an impact driver and drop saw.

Re-stocked the drinks cabinet with a decent whisky this afternoon, since my Mum is coming to visit next week and she likes an evening tipple... I may have tested it to ensure it passes.

Probably should have eaten a bit less at the full English brekkie-fest this morning - still saved me eating any lunch. Now chilling with the hound while the shopping squadron are in town spending money. Also managed to get a listen to a decent bit of footy while travelling around. Exercise later, plus maybe a bit of bike fettling for the upcoming Welsh jaunt :)

My relatively low spoke count 50mm carbon wheels are 100% better in the wind than my 21mm alloy ones. A controllable full bike push rather than that front wheel grabbing sketchiness.

I opened a bottle from when I used to buy wine, a 13 year old Village burgundy from a v good producer. I cooked some bavette steaks quickly and in plenty of butter, then sauteed some chestnut mushrooms in the same pan with a dash of brandy, a small handful of tarragon leaves and a glug of cream. Unfortunately, mini H3 decided to try it. She scoffed about 200 grams of steak. She's left me a few scraps of meat, the wine and the mushrooms.i would be upset, but the sheer delight on her face made it difficult, and the wine is quite something.

Me and mini H3 are off to the cinema for Despicable me 3 tomorrow, then Franco Manca for wood fired pizza, then the Tate Modern for the Matisse exhibition, then I will be killing myself for being irredeemably middle class metropolitan elite scum.

I fell asleep in between reading the other posts and then posting. You know how it is.

I thought Plymouth was the place for swinging and other adult entertainment activities. I guess he is posh or maybe he wants to rub up with the Naval boys.

a mystical land of green valleys defended by dragons and populated by fair maidens, the sweet air full of the sound of song, the rivers running with the sweetest water - natures liquid nectar.

a baffling land of green, sodden moss covered valleys defended by legions of unemployed and populated by sheep, the smoke filled, sulphurous fumes full of the sound of bickering, the rivers running with the effluent from saturated, over flowing coal mines.
