Planning next year . . .

I am looking for some idea of closed road events that I can do next year.

Previously I have ridden:
Ride London (4 times)
Velothon Wales (2016)
Velothon Berlin (2015/16)
Tour of Cambridge (2017)

I am thinking of doing one of the UCI qualification events again. This will probably be Cambridge, but like the idea of the 3 day stage race in Cyprus or doing the qualification event in Turkey.

I will hopefully then qualify for the UCI finals in Italy (I qualified this year, but couldn't make the finals).

I am looking for 1 or 2 other closed road events. Anyone go any feedback on what is a good event to do? (UK or Europe)

I'm doing the Nove Colli race in May, this is a UCI qualifying event. I've not done the race before, but been told its a hilly one so may not be the best one to qualify for the worlds. As you already know the Tour of Cambridgeshire is the UK UCI qualifying event which I'll also be doing. Mrs W has already booked our 2018 holiday and this is when the amateur worlds is taking place so I won't be going if I qualify.

The Cyprus Stage Race looks good, as an aging Cat 3 not sure I'd be strong enough for that. Its held pretty early in the year as well from a training perspective (that's my excuse for talking myself out of it). I'm also not a fan of time trials having only ever completed two and had the least amount of fun on a bike known possible.

Not sure how much you have raced in the UK, but most of our road races are on open roads, but escorted by motor vehicles. From a traffic perspective these are reasonably safe but completely different than a sportive. The road race league I enter hasn't confirmed dates for next year yet.

If you race Crits keep an eye open for the two Nocturne races, London and Copenhagen. From memory I think this is open for E, 1, 2, and Cat 3s.

What's this UCi qualification malarkey out of interest?
