    1,The bottom bracket's gonna creak?
2,It won't be as good as a carbon bike because people on internet forums say so.
3,If the stem isn't slammed it will be ugly and useless because...... (see 2 above).
  • Its whisper quiet and super quick and the rx100 gears work like new
  • How can i show a pic?
  • Why is it not as good as a carbon bike

It almost certainly is (haven't ridden one personally). The OP asked for any suggestions so I made a lame attempt at humour by throwing out a few titbits of generic internet folklore about bikes.

Caad 3 will have a proper BB so it wont creak. What year is the frame?

My brother has one, that dates from, I think, end of the 90's. Meant to be a super stiff frame, and pretty sought after I think.

His was a cipollini frame, and he specced it with spinergy wheels.
Sadly the frame cracked after a year or two, and they could only replace it with a standard liveried frame.
I helped him fit modernish 10 spd shimano 105 on it last year, and yes it has a threaded bb.

To show a pic, upload to Flickr or similar, then either embed it between img tags on here, or simply hyperlink it. Both through the advanced editor.

It'll rock - I sold mine (lime green one) years ago and regret it to this day.

Light, stiff, uber cool - post pictures and make me even more jealous.

Just as good as most carbon things and four hundred and nine times as cool.

I expect if it was going to crack, it would have done so by now - could be wrong of course.

Is it like this frame wise?

Sounds like someone has removed the drop bars sadly :-(

Clearance will be tight, it's a proper race bike, and not a current one.

You can always get cracks repaired. Post some piccies of it.

No worries if the drops have been tan off - just fit some new ones.

You need to upload your pics to a web hosting service such as Flickr, Dropbox, Imgur etc. Avoid Photobox as they will not allow you to share images without paying for their upgraded package.

Once your image is on the hosting web site, right click it and select "copy image address"

Open a new posting window in this thread and select the Img tab from the options at the top of the posting box. This will give a set of brackets [img][/img]. Place your cursor between the brackets and right click then select "Paste" from the options list. Go to a preview of your post to make sure the image is there as expected. Make sure that you set up your hosting service to allow your images to be viewed publicly otherwise they will only be viewable to you
  • Yes like those
  • Minus the synergy rims of Course.. and the Saeco Decal
  • Fork quality on that Saeco might be better quality.?

its a classic. The Caad5 was a step up. After that the seven with the BB30 and anodised was super cool and very light but also very expensive so shortlived. The caad9 was the last true USA cannondale with welds so smooth it makes me want to rub the bike. Those 9s look like carbon when sprayed up properly such is the quality of welds and in the UK they were all standard BB.
