Considering a Cannondale Supersix 50cm (2013), will it fit me well (I'm 1.71m)?

Hi all,

I'm looking for my first road bike. I want it mainly to commute 6 days a week, some 25km/day; some parts of the route are a bit steep.

I came across this second-hand ad for a Cannondale Supersix from 2013 for a good price (650 euro, price probably a bit negotiable). I can meet the owner and go for a test ride. However, I'm 1.71m and the bike has a 50cm frame, which a priori sounds quite small. Should I go and try it anyway, or is it just a waste of time?

Thanks for the advice!

  • The SS is quite an aggressive geometry, especially if you are then going for a smaller size
There would be better bikes to commute on
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles
  • Worth trying out for fit. Depends on your inseam and arm length.
The Supersix is little long in the reach for its size.

You'd want to check the gear range is suitable for those hills.
  • I am 1.65m and used to have a size 50 supersix. With the correct stem length, saddle height you could probably make it work for you, but you are probably a size 52. Worth trying it to see how it feels to ride.

+1 Agree with above as I am same height and have 50cm.
I would think 52cm would be the best fit...
