Bike Mapping Elevation

Morning

I'm plotting a bike route across Europe to Venice, and have done so using Bikemap, Strava and Ride with GPS, all three have virtually the same distance of each stage but are wildly different in terms of elevation.
For example a 175K stage ranges from 1800, 2500 and 3300 mts elevation, and I am plotting along the route not just clicking start and end points
My question is does anyone know what planner is the most accurate, or had experiences of one that was not

In the mountains, Strava's elevation is way out, just like the elevation measured on their phone app in the mountains.
  • I've found bikemap more realistic in it's numbers - strava definitely on the generous side. And with a bit of experience I know that, for me, 2000m+ on bikemap will prove a tough day travelling with pannirs. The strava phone app will often chalk that up as 2,500-3,000 though it's more accurate if it's a straight up and down rather than rolling. Just back from my tour of the alps finishing in Venice!
