New tyres for a slow climber - HELP!

Firstly, apologies for a tyre thread, I know, I know.

So I'm looking at new tyres for improving grip on the downhills. Currently have Conti Trail Kings, 2.2, and were fine to start with. But more recently, as I'm pushing more on the downhills I'm finding the front end sliding a bit too much for my liking.

Although I'm getting quicker, up hills are still slow, so the last thing I want is to make it harder. I'm looking at the following, any advise appreciated. Typical trail riding, Swinley Forest and Surrey Hills.

    DHF front HRII rear would be my choice

    Would not recommend an HRII on the front it lacks cornering bite although it does make a great back tyre.

    DHF great on the front although I've never been fond of the 3C compounds. The 42a has a more predictable transition from upright and is not particularly draggy away from hardpack

    Which version of the trail King?
    Some are pretty plasticky and don't give much grip.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    They're the oem ones I got with the bike. I believe nothing fancy, not the 'chilli compound'.

    Almost any quality tyre will be better then!
