Overdone on the hyperbole most definitely, but usually the Daily Mail are more likely to be ramping the housing market rather than talking it down. We live in interesting times:

I'm not clear from that article if it is the presence or absence of migrants that may be responsible. Daily Hate is usually straightforward with that.

They will print anything. If they'd said prices were rising you'd never have pointed it out ?

You correct I would never had pointed out if prices were rising because generally the Daily Mail ramps property prices - much like the Express. Bear in mind this is the paper which is famous for quoting the price of a house in articles where that information is irrelevent. In such interesting times - that article generally flies in the face of what the Daily Mail stands for.

They'll probably print something about the weather next...slow news day

More leaving, which is having an instant effect but less to build houses which obviously will take longer to feed in.

There has been a website and forum with that title since the early 2000's I think. I guess it's still going waiting for the event. I think cycling has brought a reasonable mix of people on to here but I can only imagine what kind of people spend their time posting on forum purely about house prices :?:

I think you missed the point. You may buy the paper (god forbid) because of this headline or click on the link. It doesn't mean there is a grain of truth in it

I remember being told I was brave to be buying before the looming house price crash when I bought my first house in 2000.

have you ever tried buying a house during a house price crash ... its impossible as no one wants to sell.

best buy before the crash IMO ... houses move when the price is high

I think I bought my last 2 houses just before the "crashes" ... as long as you are not selling the house in the following 4 years it doesn't matter ... just don't loose your job/wife/mind

Well if you wait long enough he'll turn up.

Like a house price crash. Or the coldest winter in X years (where x = 1-20). Or high interest rates. Or an increase in a particular type of crime. All of these will come along once in a while so its helpful to have a stock of stories to run during the parliamentary recess.
