Team Movistar today on FB posted an update about Valverde going in for surgery on the busted kneecap.

    If you watch the video of the incident, Darth Vader's standing just behind the railings.

    Must be a troll, surely, or someone with a sharp sense of humour.

    Both riders I saw go down did so on the wet "gullies"/"tramlines" in the road that are often smoother - the bits you learn to avoid in wet motor races because they have no grip. Didn't see any riders trying "the karting line" : a wider but grippier (and therefore faster) line, staying off the polished dips and white lines.
