On the train into town - which is running late. There is an average day of work ahead, then off out to Kentish Town Forum this evening for some musical entertainment. And maybe a pint or two :)

Tucking into a bowl of cereal with some slightly cheesy milk. Apart from the taste I'm assuming it's safe to consume?

Office day today, need to work out if I saw a peregrine or a goshawk yesterday as one has an exclusion zone of 250-450m and the other is 600-1000m... Hawkward.

Anyway, glad it's an office day as the weather is dreadful

    Morning folks,
I can't believe TLW is even asking that question. Come to that I can't believe Seano is asking who's been invited. What's on at the Forum Stevo? Drink the milk Seano, if you get sick it will give you a good excuse not to turn up somewhere.
Don't feel too bad considering it's a Thursday. It's the lad's last A level today. I don't expect to see him until Saturday evening, that's only because we are going to a party at his girlfriend's folks place. MOT for the Audi today. I'm selling it to a colleague and he noticed the MOT has just expired, whoops. It should pass at least. Hoping for a quieter day than yesterday at least. Need another cup of something, tea followed by coffee perhaps.

invented new swear words to shout at my brakes on this mornings commute
dreary weather to look at out the window
browse the internet for ways of using my mobile data allowance up ...... decided to buy into a 20GB plan .. previously on a 500mb one that was continually running out .... but 20GB I think is too much ... I have 11 days left and 18GB still to go .... how do kids use so much data ... there is only so much Strava kudos one can give during the day !!!

Don't waste a few mb's browsing forums! Start streaming some porn or you'll never get through your allowance.

Download Heart's greatest hits album, but then blast it out full vol over streaming. That'll use up a bit of data and sooth any break-related angst all in one.

Morning, dull one here today office aircon appears to be on fast freeze akin to the top shelf of a freezer an facilities cant change it, something about acceptable working temperatures.

Not much planned today, office dog requires a walk later long as it doesn't rain. Pub after work celebrate someones planned escape from corporate hell.

Rinsed cr@p off car after yesterday's wash. Decided it could do with some polish. Fark me that's a rotten job. After some hours, I've managed to do the roof, bonnet, and rear panels. So, that leaves only four doors, front wings, and bumpers/sills to do.

OT for V68 and TLW car gurus: Are those electric buffing gizmos any good? Don't think I ever want to do this manually again.

Flogging Molly - a sort of punked-up Pogues on speed apparently. Got invited by a mate who rates them and thought it would be good for a change. Also haven't I seen Ron and his lot in about 6 months so it's good excuse for a pub stop beforehand.

Seano, you wouldn't like them

brekkie, gym, pineapple, cafe, then a stroll to an enjoyable bubbly brekkie, though they had no bolly and the veuve was warm, third choice was ok

spending time explaining to certain gmc peeps that it's better to haggle than go legal, especially when: i) you're in the wrong; and, ii) fixing the issue would make you even more money

Took the Peugeot to the dealers for them to order some parts the girl said "the total cost will be €85 including tax and the hand service"

she didn't specify how much of this the parts were, anyone know the going rate for a hand service in Portugal? :D

Wheelspinner San: Wax on, wax off, wax on, wax off...

Do machine polishes once in a blue moon. Most (if not all) car paint is now 2k - twin pack. As they are now water based, the way they get a gloss is by using a lacquer coat. This coat can get scratched and an accumulation of tiny scratches causes the paint work to look dull.
Machine polishing can polish out the scratches.

As for ordinary hand waxing. Try not to do it in direct sunshine or if it's too cool. Your standard wax based car shampoo is pretty good.
    Turtle wax is over rated.
Maguire's is over priced and over rated.
    Colour waxes have limited effect.
Simoniz is reasonably cheap and reasonably cheerful.
Mer has a cutting agent that eventually will strip the paint. Great finish but...
Personally, Auto Glym and Auto smart, plain white polymer polishes are easy to apply and easy to buff. It shouldn't take you the time you are taking. Auto Glym car shampoo is A1. It doesn't produce the foam that some wax shampoo's do. I think that the bubbles is just a marketing ploy - "Lots of suds, it must be good!". Bollox really.

If you find that waxing does not restore the lustre, then have a look at Clay Bar polishing as opposed to machine polishing on Youtube but again, it's all about restoring the lacquer coat.

I can email him and find out.

Perhaps he fell in love with someone else, moved out of home and is still getting jiggy with her. In time, when the jiggy starts to wane, he'll slowly crawl back.

It's been raining stair rods all day here. What's it like over there Gazza?

    Hoes before bro's for Ballys

Serious note, how bad an idea is it to lift up paving and cement mix from around the caps marked gas and water outside my house (on my land). Want rid of the uneven paving and replace it with gravel/slate (slate preferred but lad at work has me worried about punctures on cars n bikes)

Can get pics if it helps

    Pics would be good.

It may be prudent to 'secure' the pipework at the critical points with some suitable 'ground work' to make sure there is no movement in the pipework. You could gravel it after this is done. Perhaps a layer of hardcore, coupled with making sure all gas and water conduits are solid and then gravel. The access to gas and water must not be obfuscated in any way and the tops (mini man hole covers) must be both visible and accessible. Raising them (if need be) isn't rocket science.
There's no reason why not with the right preparation.

...contact your local water and gas supplier. They can give you WRAS information on the regs. Your friendly Jewson's or Travis Perkins can probably point you in the right direction. Do not do this work yourself.

Mine too. I had to do the motherly thing twice - towel him off. It's a funny thing, writhing and scrapping whilst purring his socks off. Then he sat on my knee in a sort of acceptance of what I had to do.

All is well, but unfortunately no cute new vixen to get jiggy with. :(
