I'm hoping I actually get to pedal the bike home tonight as it's been in the underground car park at the office since Monday.

In the meantime, some actual work, a spot of bossing and a free lunch with some advisors :)

    Morning folks,
I feel like it's Thursday having been out drinking last night. Powerful stimulants would definitely help, but beer and curry all paid for by the company is not to be sniffed at. Thankfully I don't need to get involved in all the meetings that are going on today, the air quality in them will be very poor. Had a busy start to the morning so hoping I can slow down a bit now. Coffee machine is on but another cup of tea whilst that warms up should help things along.
Today being Wednesday I will be out for my traditional Wednesday beers, as it's the Bubble's birthday we will also be going for a curry. Whoops.

Work work work work work. Powerful stimulants very much on the cards. Draggy front brake was irritating. Wasn't draggy last night. Weird. Chain was a fetching shade of orange in parts this morning because I was too lazy to GT85 it, wipe it and re-lube it when I squelched in last night.

Day +6 and all is going OK. Feeding (as opposed to eating) has been the only challenge. Her gut seems to be very sensitised and feeding through the tube has given her real discomfort. She's still managing to eat a bit so it's not much of a problem but she started treatment in Jan at around 60kg and she's now 48kg.

I'm broken - nearly 6 months of sleeping in a zed-bed and sitting on my butt all day and next-to-no cycling or other physical activity short of climbing lots of stairs - my poor body is going to take some bashing back into shape. Fortunately the house I'm looking to buy in the Cotswolds is half way up The Hill - so plenty of opportunity for hill repeats in winter rather than the turbo.

@ SG - "More tea Vicar?" "No ta. Been stuffing tarts all afternoon".
@ VN/Stevo - What exciting lives you lead.
@ LD - I'm still not talking to you since you blanked me over a possible glass cranking sesh when you were in Gallowayshire.
@ OxMa - I'll send you what i'm coughing up. Put some of what you are coughing up together with mine in a jar (firmly shut the lid) and then stand back and watch. Keep a flame thrower handy. Send me a report (if you survive).
@ FD - get a bike with panniers... actually, no - don't bother; there's something quite wrong about the Brooks/42 spoke (per wheel!!)/triple crankset brigade.
@ HB - Methyl amphetamine is much better than the thieving, robbing, main stream commercial overpriced legal alternatives.
@ MRS - When this is all done and dusted with hopefully the best possible outcome, you can look in the mirror and say to yourself "f*ck me I look old".

Sky does not seem promising. What's it like over there Gazza?

Might bore you lot some more with another instalment of Pinno's Jackanory. Meanwhile, OH is upstairs doing one of her shaving jobs. Think she locked the door. Meh.

No TLW? Has he over dosed on the JP's?

Haven't decided what to do yet. Might have a snooze and then make up my mind.

    Laters.

Ha - yes. The great thing about going through this stuff is how mentally strong it makes you. You've witnessed a lot of suffering in your kid (kids, now, in my case) and suffered a little yourself so suffering on a bike seems so trivial. When I did the AD6 malarkey, I had a bit of tape on my top tube with the names of all the people I was riding for - my son and my dad, who are still with us, and 4 friends who aren't. Whenever I thought I was suffering (especially on the 6th climb), I just took a look at it and told myself to MTFU. Works wonders. I'll be fine.

Meth will make my teeth fall out and make me rut frantically with anything with a pulse, making it highly likely I'll contract galloping n0b rot. Well, not immediately, but it'll definitely happen. I'd rather have a couple of lines of lovely pearlescent blow, but that's definitely going to lead to bankruptcy and a deviated septum. Common or garden speed is just nasty, and pills in the office just won't do. What about those prescription uppers they give to hyperactive kids, or those "smart" uppers all the students are doing to get them through exams these days?

I'm afraid I'm going to have to settle for a cardboard cup of black filter coffee for 99p. Not much of a stimulant, but fewer catastrophic life outcomes.

Your genes and getting punched are what leads to a deviated septum. Blow (and too much picking your nose) leads to a hole in the septum. Both are a PITA when you're trying to fit tiny tubes in someone's nose.

I stand corrected! I don't want either, just to be clear.

Getting a deviated septum fixed is a horrible operation too - blowing a hole in it might be a better way of fixing it. I'm mostly a stranger to the healthcare system myself (my GP does my car racing licence medical for free because, else, she says she'd never see me) but that op was miserable.

Might have been either. Broken nose from rugby but ENT consultant suggested it wasn't uncommon for it to be part of the whole "nose continues to grow" thing.

Swings and roundabouts innit. "...rut frantically with anything with a pulse...". You say that like it's a bad thing but will soon be cured by 'C'. But 'A' will eventually re-enforce 'anything' in 'B'.

Something vaguely approaching winter showed up today. This was caused by me washing the car first thing. Never fails.

Speak for yourself, free lunch is a very exciting prospect when you're starving. Ditto free wine when you're thirsty :)

Minions held the fort admirably. I'm rewarding them with a booze cruise down the Thames in a couple of weeks.

Don't worry pina just early work meh, that continued all day. Thankfully a minion got me my jp - though it was getting cold by the time I ate it

Then had the double joys of the eldest at home on his own in the midst of his first pet dying and trying to talk him through it as I drove to see my grandad as he slowly expires. Nothing compared to others, but it felt shoot
