Shocking bit of bus driving, and a very lucky man who walked away from this...

No arrests were made!

I guess the police know more than we do ?

Looks like the bus is out of control to me ? Mechanical fault perhaps ?

Probably feels like he got hit by a bus.

That's true, maybe the accelerator jammed on, or the driver had a health issue.

Wow, there has to be a fault/health problem. No sign of slowing at all. The speed was all scrubbed off by the impact

Looks less dramatic now... BBC have paused the full event and put up a warning; the original unedited footage looked much faster, and was pretty horrific.

It's bizarre how he just gets up and carries on walking into the shop* (if that's where he was going in the first place). I'll bet some shock kicked in shortly afterwards

*EDIT. No, it's a pub, and that's where he was going there at 9:12 am for a pint.

That guy can take a hit better than Chris Eubank, he shatters the windscreen with his head and gets back up and strolls away!

To be fair - even a lightweight like me might feel like a drink after that...

Yes, me too. But he was on his way there when it happened.

I can't believe how easily he got back up and that he seemed completely unscathed. He was really luckily not to get hit into the lamppost or crushed against it. Bet he was stiff and sore later when the adrenaline ran out.

That is not dangerous driving. In Britain you can do pretty much whatever you like with a vehicle and unless you hit the Queen you will be grand. Your fellow jurors will have full sympathy as to how you got involved in a accident such as this. Could have happened to anyone mate.

Apologies for the sarcasm in advance.

Could be down to him starting at 9am...the day before.

Being serious though, isn't it the tensing up of the muscles that exaggerates* injuries. Not being aware your about to be hit is better as you and your muscles are all loose.

But yes, lucky to not be killed and obviously a fault with the bus or medical episode for the driver. Scary.

    *maybe the wrong word?

    So he goes into the pub;
He drinks a Whiskey drink, he drinks a Vodka drink
He drinks a Lager drink, he drinks a Cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him of the good times

    exacerbate? :D

But yes, I've heard the same.

I used to ride a motorbike, and one day I was "being a hero in the wet" . It was all going well on a roundabout until I realised I was looking at the front wheel from the side.

In those split seconds that last a long time I remembered Barry Sheen talking to Michael Parkinson about crashes. He said that the best thing to do in an accident is relax, so I did. I rolled down the road like a rag doll and then got up to see that the bike hadn't done so well.

I find it very difficult to relax when falling off, but I know I should.
Regarding musical connections and this, made me think of:

I get knocked down but I get up again
    Nothing's gonna bring me down....

    Possibly by Chumbawamba.
