Layback dropper post

Hi all.
Wanting a dropper but my current bike is comfy after much tinkering and I don't really want to mess with things now it's right. Have found the Specialized Command Post, which is on sale at the moment. Anyone with experience of it? Aware I could just move the saddle back on a straight post, but would rather have the flexibility of keeping it in the middle of the layback if possible. I'll also need a shim as my current post is 31.6mm.

I was tempted by that, but I'd definitely need external cable.

Thanks. I think the Command Post is out for a few reasons. 100mm is a relatively small drop, especially as I have my post 170mm or so outside the frame. If I find it changes my position too much, I might just get a 10mm longer stem to compensate.
