Hope it's busy for the right reasons MRS.
I decided today was a good day for driving due to the high probability of a sharknado occurring. Never mind the dangers of bits of twig falling on you, if a hammerhead lands on you it'll put a serious downer on your day. I saw the film a while back and I reckon it's the perfect conditions for it. No point hiding behind feeble excuses, that's the truth of it.
The Europeans seem to be back at work, they are bothering me already. Deep joy.0 -

What did you expect? A brolly can't withstand a bit of wind, never mind a tiger shark falling out of the sky. Thanks! I think it's all pretty routine (at least the bit after the Hickman) - Charlie used to have it done pretty much before every chemo. Ditto, all the best MRSs. I'm sure she'll be fine, but being nervous about these things is understandable, hardly rational but even the person that is nervous knows that. I got a bit funny about needles by the end of my chemo, probably because my veins had gone hard and they would struggle to get a line in. I'm better about it now, but still not as relaxed as I used to be.

Morning, back in the office today, I was at Ft William to watch the mountain biking on the weekend then out on sites in Argyll yesterday, got some riding in on the Saturday too. Hopefully getting a demo from a very cool bike brand to race on this weekend so I can pretend to be pro, thinking of changing my strava name already...
We played weather top trumps on the phone this morning, sounds like London is beating us for the first time in a while, the wind is set to come in here later on but solid heavy rain until tomorrow morning. Fun fun0 -
Few lemon sharks on the way to work, thankfully I came in the Saab so I could launch a couple of sidewinders to remove them.
Lots of bedraggled people walking into the office I brought a proper jacket so am dry from the waist up. How long that lasts as the rain is hammering off the roof here is anyones guess. Theres ducks up there again according the the facilities guys.

awesome club ride .... wish I had a geared CX bike though ... the roads weer awash with fallen branches and debris. My bunny hopping skills have levelled up this morning. The country lanes are lethal though, the middle of them is just loose gravel washed there from the rain so you have to cycle close to the hedge ..... cue a couple of bracken - stinging nettle face whips at 20mph during sketchy descents.
Still, as much as the wind punished me for being weak .... it got me a couple of PRs as well on the way back 0 -

Hickman line should be over by now. My first one snapped on the way out. Doc gave me some hipnoval and as a distraction told me a joke: "What goes mark mark mark mark?.... Dog with a hair lip" As I was slipping under, apparently I was saying "Mark mark mark..." continuously as they surgically removed the 'stump'. Happy days.
Me going to hire SDS drill, some fluorine trichloride and a couple of paddy's. Update later. Might be popping in to see Wheelspinner, even though it's the middle of the night there.

Even 40 mph gusts (I know this is default weather where you are Pinno) and driving rain bringing multiple shark attacks are better than SWT to Waterloo plus Drain, or bus plus Northern line. Both options mean standing in an overheated hell full of damp fcukers, coughing, spluttering, farting and generally being unpleasantly human in a confined space.
Crosswinds improve my bike handling ability, and headwinds make me stronger. 0 -

I've no idea what they cost to hire, but you can pick up (a cheap) one for about £50. I know you get what you pay for and all that, but mine is still going strong after being used to take the kitchen down to brick (couldn't see through the dust!) and various other jobs.

One of our lot was caught up in the London Bridge incident on Saturday night - she's badly shaken but unhurt. We given her some time off to recover and HR have helpfully sent the number for the corporate counselling service...
