Crankset chainrings are on their way out. Looking at options for upgrading the cranks. Can I run 11 speed chainset with the rest of my system being 10 speed? Seen some deals on SLX double 11 speed and wondering if they are worth taking a risk. Had a quick search but couldn't find an answer, if its been covered please can someone point me in the right direction. Cheers.

Is that the new 11 speed shimano chain rings as I'm buying a new crankset and using the old one on my commuter hack bike and wondered how well they work with a 10speed chain.

Otherwise I just buy the crank without and fit one of the aftermarket ones from absolute black.
  • Yep, new will work just fine with 10 speed.
