Hi all, I'm hoping that someone with more knowledge than I could offer some advice...

I'm looking at buying a new bike for trails, specifically Llandegla or Delamere. I was immediately drawn to the Charge Cooker 2 (having owned a Cooker single speed in the past) http://www.wiggle.co.uk/charge-cooker-2-slx-2017-mountain-bike/. My cyclocross bike is a Charge, so I have quiet a soft spot for the brand.

The other choice is a DIamondback Hesit 2.0 - http://www.tredz.co.uk/.DiamondBack-Heist-2-0-27-5-Mountain-Bike-2017-Hardtail-MTB_95739.htm . It's had excellent reviews and looks pretty good value for money, and is considerably cheaper than the Charge. What are DIamondback like generally though? Pretty robust?

Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

I have a Diamondback Myres (All mountain hardtail) & it's standing up-to alot of punishment over the last 12months that I've owned it.

I've had to change my bottom bracket soon after purchasing, otherwise everything else is original. Most of my riding is bridleways and natural trails in the Peak District & used all year round.

Great, thanks very much for the feedback. I'm still 50:50 - the Diamondback makes more sense and is higher spec by the look of it, however.

I don't mean to be a pain, but I'd choose this over both.

I'd say the vitus is more appealing on paper, for the price.

The cooker is ok but I'd expect to see better forks on it for a eleven hundred quid.. not that there's anything wrong with raidons, but I'd expect at least epixons on it, raidons are for bikes in the £400 to £800 range.
