Well Sky Chef is not happy. I wonder how long his tweet with the hashtag f*ckthepolice will stay?

G needs his seatpost clamp adjusting.... 8)

Nice to see Movistar pushing on. No surprise there then.

    Movistar. No class.

    Thomas 2.36s down.

*disclaimer* not actually seen the crash

Surely when something like this happens due to an external factor, the riders who lose time should have it neutralised? Like when whichever Yates it was hit the 1km banner that was deflating last season
  • Giro effectively over if Movistar continue to push on, Thomas over two mins back...

    +1

But lets see what the excuse is... Maybe the bike cut out? It was one of the police outriders, so you would expect them to know the score. Don't know. Hope G manages to limit the losses... right now he is 2min down

Not seen it either - but is this a situation where you'd expect the main favourites to ease off?

Pace at the front seems natural. Haven't seen anyone attacking because if the crash.

Nah, can't neutralise it from that far out. The race was on, Movistar could have knocked it off til others got back on but they shouldn't be expected to do that.

That incident was covered by 3km rule.

    What a farce.
Imagine if it had involved Nibali.

I know this might sound melodramatic, but it's almost enough to put me off watching. So much outside interference in races. Was it always like this?

I think the crash was caused as much by Dumoulin not watching where he was going as much as the motorbike

Edit: On more considered viewing (and at full speed), I don't think I was right.
