Tubeless advice

I know I am late to this tubeless malarkey but before I prepare to cover my kitchen in sealant, am i wasting my time trying to fit non-tubeless conti x-kings to my new rims. I have all the tape and valves etc so the only potential issue are the tyres. T'internet is full of Americans suggesting it won't won't work but thought I'd check with the collective knowhow here. Rims are fulcrum red power hp.
Thanks

If they are folding bead, will probably work. Steel beads are harder to seat though so might not.

Stock tyres on a boardman comp, probably likely to be wired, although is there an easy way to tell? (Excuse me if this is a very obvious question!)

let the air out and have a look. Folding beads will fold, wire will not.
