Carrera Fury Stipdown Problems

Had my Fury for 5 years, I have only serviced the chain & sprockets but now I have had to do a total stripdown to bare frame which will be re-painted to remove all those stickers, I have a few questions which need tech advice but will tackle them 1 at at time.

My pedal crank (oem crank) came off easily although the left had side BB's are crunchy but when it came to the cog side pedal thread I had to grind the 2 flats of the pedal shaft spanner flats, so I could grip this in the vice as it would not move. I even heated the threads up & it then moved slowly & tightly.
Once removed I then realised it had siezed in the thread & came out with half of the threads - it will still thread into the crank but only starts half way in.

My question about this is could I get the pedal crank helicoil threaded or weld the hole up & re-thread it or will it be better to buy a new crank with better BB's, as these cranks don't seem to be liked alot ???

Thanks for your help !

Without knowing what the parts are it's hard to say. they probably can be repaired, but if you need a new BB it might make more sense to replace.

Although your post is a bit confusing.
