Carrera kraken lock out forks

Hi everyone newbie here just been given a moutain bike its a carrera kraken 2006 and the lock out forks are stiff wont move anywere wondering if any tips on how to try fix them? Thank you

    But probably cheap Suntour or RS Darts, and rusted to bits inside.

    The seals on the forks are pants, water has probably got past them and the steel stanchion is now rusted solidly into the bushing, happens all the time without TLC.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    If it's rusted, not fixable.

    Lots of choices online of forks that would suite.
