Nice race, but for me the highlight is that it has the best trophy in cycling. Perhaps in all sport.

It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

A Tirreno-Adriatico win is perfectly accompanied by a win in the Tour of Austria

Ever year I think that this race should be reintroduced to PTP then forget to mention it at the time.

Yeah. I thought about it. The precedent, broadly but not always adhered to, with PTP seems to be to avoid doubling up. Will keep in mind for next year. Personally I'd also add in the two Canadian WT races.

Though it does just end up being a question of finding people/time to do the scoring.

Kirby busy Sebing and Siing for all he's worth...............................which is not a lot.

Movistar break out of the WT team cluster to take a half minute lead.

Bad crash for Moscon of Sky- fortunately doesn't take anybody else out.

Cripes! Looks like that wheel just crumpled. Was that drain cover just coincidental though?? Surely it couldn't/shouldn't have caused that.

Thomas's and Landa's GC hopes out of the window. A minute and a half lost.
    Much road rash for Moscon.
Carbon eh? great but it does do that from time to time.

Undoubtedly caused by a heavy heart from all the negative press lately.

This confuses me. Surely with Sky's attention to detail nothing could ever go wrong ever. At least that's what the media tell me.

    BMC a class apart again.
More than a few GC hopes bite the Tuscan tarmac on day one.

I'm assuming that the force from the magnets in the wheel are what ripped it apart...

I thought all the Sky riders had wheel problems. Wheel problems with TUEs, wheel problems with PR...

"Moscon was the first one, and he took out Kiri of the back," Thomas explained. "Then it happened again, and there was only four of us left, so we had to wait. It felt like forever; we were freewheeling for a couple of kilometres. We just had to wait for the fifth guy.

Some excellent names in the break today - Charles Planet sounds like a superhero.
