    Morning,

Office again today, nothing interesting going on for me. Everyone else is very busy with a three day visit from a potential new client but I'm not involved so I have peace and quiet to get some work done, I'm clearly too much of a liability to meet important people

Also trying to decide whether to get 0% finance on those Cosine wheels, it seems stupid to bother for £550 but I have to pay a house deposit on the 27th and I'm impatient. I need to reward myself for such hard adulting

    Morning,

Another early 5am gym session today, thinking of making it a regular thing, so much nicer not having to tussle with people to get on the equipment you want and then the evening is more open to being a lazy sod. New smartwatch arrives today, looking forward to having a new toy to play with, and my pair of jammers arrived last night, I thought I'd feel more exposed but I guess having been wearing lycra for cycling it kinda just feels like wearing shorts without the padding

Today is probably going to be spent entirely on Autocad which is fine by me, sometimes it's nice to just do something that doesn't require very much brainpower. Certainly beats having to deal with people on the phones.

    Morning folks,
I wish I was too much of a liability to deal with customers. Would I get bored if not being rude to them though? Should be fairly quiet in the office today, bunking off early for the girl's parents evening. Although it's in the afternoon they still call it a parents evening. Should all be ok, if anything it will be us having a go at a teacher. Oh the joy...

Pesky customers, that's why I shouldn't be allowed to talk to them. I was halfway through writing that and I get interrupted by a phone call from one of them whinging. That means I have to do some work and in the meantime three other posts have gone up.

We are a "specialist investment fund management company" so we have a few big clients who are dealt with at a high level, they aren't interested in meeting peasants like me. Would be nice to be taken for a day shooting and a posh meal at a hotel though! Luckily I get my fair share of being rude to people but they tend to be contractors working in our sites or service providers

Morning, spent this morning faffing wondering why I couldn't actually do anything, turns out overnight someone kindly updated my permissions on the computer adding me to a group called "Policy_Denylogon" Guess what that does!

Anyway nothing else really happening today, so a day spent being very bored I'd imagine. There is a rumour of some snow end of the week or weekend. Not holding my breath on that one.

As long as our purchase continues the Date doesn't know about the side pot I have for a ski holiday, still only to be used when their is snow and we have moved in.

How's your love of solicitors up across the border?

Day will be spent working then trying to sort out the mess that is the Clubs books (put them into some form of ledger for the last 5 years) then hit the gym. May have some food in between it all

Off to Val in late Feb - enough snow already according to the reports. Stay high is an adage that's always worked for me - never had a 'green' ski hol.

Usual day of tax mitigation and kicking bottoms. Ah the joys. Off out tonight for a beer or two - earlier in the week than usual but I'm on the bike on Thursday trying to shed a bit of Xmas lard.

I'm putting an easier cassette on the cannondale so the GF can come touring with us (I'll be carrying 10 days worth of stuff on the Genesis and she may have a frame bag but maybe not). Thing is, I want to keep my cassette on the cannondale for general riding so the ONLY logical option is to buy some nice new wheels and let her have the Alu wheels/easy cassette for touring. I do it all for her really...

Our solicitor is fine, fees are capped and minimal but they are being slow registering with our mortgage provider which is the only thing holding us up. The current owners moved the date to the 27th from the 10th of Feb as they are keen to move but they forgot to send the title plan for the additional bit of land they bought separately from the house, estate agent c0ck up I think
  • WFH, lunchtime ride complete
    Mild but windy
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles
  • Just finished the last of the computer work at home, rerouted cables to a NAS and network switch hidden away out of sight (and kids). Office tidied, hot tub booked, brownie points in the bag!

I have calculated that it was a minimum of 30 minutes whinging. What's wrong with the company you work for?

Me PPP me amd tomorrow. Heap big sigh.

Are you hoping to redeem your Brownie points in the hot tub HD?

    Laters.

Not really the company's fault, more the market we are in. This business tends to attract eccentrics and just plain crazy people and most of them are getting too old. This was a big customer complaining that a lot of his prices had changed. After the first example I worked out what had happened and why and told him we would fix it and the changes would take effect on the overnight back up and we'd send a new price file in the morning. He gave me another three examples with me repeating the same thing in simpler terms every time. I couldn't get any more simple with my explanation so I just told him I knew what the problem was and would have it fixed by the morning. He rang on another two occasions with the same problem yesterday and there was a message from him when I got here at 7.30 this morning. It is now fixed and we've sent him the corrected file. He rang again a short while ago, he hasn't put the corrected file in his system yet.
He spends a lot of money so I have to deal with him. Luckily when I laugh and call him an old fool he thinks I'm joking.

Possibly, I've been administering, well pretending, first aid to a delightful young lady.
