Hi all, the spoke nipples in my rear wheel keep breaking, they appear to be corroded and have had the local shop replace a few now. What's the best way to sort this, replace all nipples with stainless?? I'd need to get someone to do it, any idea of what I should be paying??

Thanks

Jay

Ok, rough cost to have them all replaced? Seems to be happening on a regular basis :-(

If a few have gone now is the time to replace them all.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Nipples will cost you a couple of pounds, a wheel true up about £20 or learn to do it yourself.

I'd replace the spokes as well if the wheel needs a rebuild.

    Why replace the spokes??

Shop is going to rebuild the wheel with brass nipples for £35
  • Do not pull excessively hard, do not twist, lubricate when needed.
