I did think that the idea was that your ambassador is on your side, not the side of the idiot in charge of the country he's posted to.
Without wishing to prematurely Godwin this thread* it's a bit like the pre-war British government appointing Oswald Mosley to be ambassador to Germany.

    *well maybe I do

Bring it on. What our brave new world needs most is a racist with alcohol 'issues' to be bestest mates with a narcissistic idiot with access to nuclear weapons.

I am sure this has been seen before [cough] churchill, Roosevelt [\cough] its like WW2 all over again .... all we need is a new fundamentalist national socialist to be elected in Germany and we have the perfect stage for WW3 :D

Mind you, could be a way to sort out the looming pensions overhang and the increasing demands of an ageing population on the NHS...

They should offer him the job as ambassador to Sudan see if he's serious - tell him he can work his way up.

Downing Street? Schmowning Street. What do they know? This country has had enough of experts. Let the people decide. Take back control.

Good point, I've had it with these un-elected bureaucrats

It would be one way to get rid of him. Send him off to a tin pot dictator of a country that soon won't matter on the world stage ?

Reading about this I was reminded of the plane crash he survived. What a wasted opportunity.
  • Why does he want to take another job that keeps him from spending time in Britain?

Quid pro quo? - We will appoint Farage if they will apppoint Kanye West
  • Was Brexit vote a case of Farage and his party's MEPs voting away their jobs? Turkeys voting for Xmas?

If you've got such a genius why send him as our top representative to possibly our most important ally? He'll mess it up! Mind you it says something about his intellect and/or ego that he put the suggestion out there. He couldn't have thought he'd be considered? Why embarrass yourself with the ridicule?

He's no idiot. He's got the one thing he said he wanted, now he's becoming a well known face in the USA. There's money there for outspoken personalities.

Back in my yoof I played the odd round of golf with the current UK ambassador to one of the Stans. Back then he was a complete tw4t. So Farage should be well suited.

Pretty poor taste sir. If that is your train of thought there are far more deserving characters of having their lives curtailed. Tony Blair & George W Bush are just two that spring to mind.

Ambassador means many different things to Americans - many Mormons describe themselves as ambassadors. Nike even have ambassadors.

I guess as an MEP, Farridge could be the EU ambassador.

Go for it Nige, you alpha males need to converse about pu55y grabbing, share racist jokes and try and out do each other in persecuting minorities.

Opps sorry Trump has Boris for those conversations, as he is the Foreign Secretary

He seems to have gone the other way and is accusing no 10 of putting dislike before national interest. I thought he wanted control to be in the UK. An ambassador needs to be a diplomat, something he clearly has no clue about.

He would never do that, no never, not like in the European parliament after the Brexit vote.

oops, I retract this as it appears that Kanye's being sectioned following his recent rants. Farage doesn't have m health issues as an excuse for his behaviour, though.
  • Boorish narcissist demagogue

He doesn't seem to understand how politics works, which is slightly worrying considering he's been a career politician for nearly 25 years.

He doesn't represent anybody - in fact, he's failed in 7 bids to become an MP. Seven. He's 'retired', what - 3 times? And now he's saying he'll stand again if there's a by-election in Thanet South (depending on how the two different investigations into UKIP election funding draw out, that is).

He doesn't get a say in who is an ambassador - Trump doesn't get a say in who is an ambassador - the elected representatives get a say, and they already have an ambassador.

Trump can employ Farage if he loves him so much, though that would make him an immigrant (with criminal links if the election funding cases turn that way) - ho hum.

Did these people survive a plane crash? If so that would also be a shame.
  • Ambassador to the USA seems a bit of a big job for someone with no experience. Perhaps he would like to go somewhere else to start with for a year or two, to learn the ropes.

I suggest somewhere with a referendum that has just gone against the ruling party, so he'd feel at home - Colombia.

So wishing death on people who only stood up for what they believe (and the majority of country agreed wit) without the balls to snub out child killers lol.

I think that about sums up the type of attitude that led to Farage and Trump winning.

Can you point me in the direction of the post in which you said you would find it a preferable if a child killer was accidentally killed?

So we know you would have preferred Farage and Trump not to have won, and Farage not to have survived a plane crash.
Now could you tell us what you would actually like to happen to child killers.
