So after a bit of encouragement:

Are Lightweight the best carbon wheels on the market?

    define best ?

    the best for me are clinchers that can take repeated pot hole hits, work well in the rain and don't cost much but are as light as possible ... do they meet those needs ?

    If you're after a dated wheel profile with a terrible logo then yip, they're the best.

    my lw obermayers are certainly the best wheels i've ever ridden, light, strong, stiff, comfy

    at large yaw angles they aren't as stable as some more advanced rim profiles, but unless you're a really light rider they're ok, at narrow angles there's far less difference between wheels of similar depth

    the main downside is they are one piece, with limited repairability

    customer service is excellent, i trashed one in an accident (previous generation), i had the 'service up' extended warranty, but instead of just replacing that wheel they offered me a complete new set for <300 euro, bargain, plus they were 11 speed as well :)

    if i were buying more wheels i'd also consider corima, they have some interesting options

    clinchers...

    no idea, i wouldn't buy carbon clinchers irrespective of maker
    my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny

    Only if they are fitted to a Giant bike.
