So: daughter now grown out of her Ridgeback MX24. She's nearly 11, just under 150cm tall, and I'm wondering if a small adult bike would be appropriate rather than a large kids' bike?

Flippin' kids growing mumble groan

It's just a hill. Get over it.

  • Personally, I'm of the sort that depends on your finances. If you think you can afford another bike sometimes 3-4 years down the line when she's outgrown a smaller adult bike? Go for it. Have a bike that's perfect for her size and everything.

But... If money is tight and you can't afford to purchase one at a later date, or don't want to, it might be better to get the larger bike.

In terms of looking adult, or childish though? Children always want to seem to look adult. So that should factor into your decision as well.
