Help choosing software + adaptor for '3D race' training

Hello,
My father in law has an exercise bike, which he has set up in front of a projector that is hooked up to his PC. He uses this to watch videos while training, and enjoys it. However, what he really would like to do is buy some sort of adaptor that he can connect to his bike, which would then transmit data (presumably through Bluetooth?) to his PC. He would then like to use this with some sort of software that allows him to take part in 'races' against computer-controlled opponents, shown on his projector. He would ideally like to buy some standalone software that allowed him to do this without a subscription, but if the subscription-based alternatives are significantly better then I guess he would look at those too.
Can anyone help with this, either with a recommendation or just any general advice? I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks for the link. That looks really nice, but it costs $10 per month. Also, I'm not sure what hardware he'd need to purchase with that - is there a standard that most people use?0 -
BigRing is an alternative - https://ibooij.github.io/big-ring/ - allows the use of "real life" videos (there are many out there for free) - I've been riding around Iceland recently (from the discomfort of my garage lol)
All you need on the bike is the cadence and/or speed sensor and the appropriate adaptor for the PC - in my case I'm using ANT+ sensors and an ANT+ dongle for the PC0 -

It doesn't mention it specifically having Ant+ in the listing but there a mention of Ant+ further down the page. Is that the right kind of thing to buy?0 -

That depends very much what you mean by exercise bike, can you tell us what exactly or have a photo?
The majority of 3D systems require sensors on the bike or the bike attached to a turbo trainer which will provide some data. If it's anything like the exercise bike my wife has it's all enclosed and no way to fit any sensors to it.0
