All the disadvantages of Qatar with none of the advantages - i.e. chance of mega echelons. I was looking forward to 250km of pure echelon debauchery but alas, not to be.

The backdrop looks pretty cool but that's about it. Just one long sprint train basically. Might as well just make it 10km and get it over and done with (My view on a lot of the Vuelta stages this year too, you know, the great ones where they ride along a dual carriageway for hours then have a cool climb at the end)0

It's a race around this, just so they can sell more properties. Think of the whole WRC as an advertorial for Qatar property.
