Unusual freehub clicking.

Hi

I was just out earlier on and once I started freewheeling I very quickly noticed an unusual noise coming from my rear wheel. Obviously the vast majority freehubs naturally click but along with that click, was a much more high pitched click that stood out. I recently had the rear wheel in at my local bike shop because it stopped freewheeling altogether and I had the pawl replaced. What I really want to know is;

The possible reason it's doing this?
What it actually is?
And whether it's safe to continue riding with over the weekend until I take it in to my local bike shop? Thanks!!!

    *crystal
  • Is it a Mavic wheel by any chance? If so it's possibly the "squeal of imminent death" from your freehub.

    No, although that doesn't sound too promising haha. They're Fulcrum Racing Zero's

    Never use a repair man who's likely to want to rub your balls... :oops:

    If no crystal ball is present, the next step might be taking the hub apart and LOOK what's wrong.
