Semi-horizontal dropouts with those skewers is an accident waiting to happen... you need internal cams for those.

I had those dropouts on my 1996 Look and external cam didn't work

I have similar skewers on another bike with semi horizontal dropouts no issues but I do have to do them tight enough but I am o.k with this.

    What frame is it?

I dont know it was an ebay find. It came with a rather nice columbus Genius CP steel threaded 1" steerer fork which is probably worth as much as I paid for the frame £100. the fork is not long enough to work with this frame so it needs to be sold really. Although I could keep it for my Pinarello as it the steerer is fine for the short headtube on that bike.

So an ebay find becomes purple as was practially a free frame. No idea who made it but the dropouts dat it to 90's. Welds are very smooth though for aluminium.

It could be a tribute to Prince but really I just like purple.
Got a set of schmolke bars today in the post which will be going on this. Again a ebay find. Been searching for these for months.
The saddle should be turning up later today although as all I have spare is a tatty one and this bike is becoming to nice for tat.

A homage to the 90's! I've got an old Mavic SSC mech like that, I've not found anything to do with it since the bike it came off was thrown away (crash).

So those are shifters where the internals have been removed and they are reduced to brake levers?

Are you trying to make a 5 Kg bike out of an old frame?

No ugo campag made the 10 speed record ergo's as brake levers only. They weigh 221g. Been searching for a set for ages and i finally found a set last year. The mavic mech stock is 170g but since the cages come of i am going to cut a set out of carbon plate in the kitchen. I will try to move the jockey wheel bolt centres apart by a few mm as i am replacing the 9t jockey wheels with 11t ones. This will allow me to use a wider range cassette than is currently possible. Yes i am trying to build the lightest bike i can on a budget starting with cheap frame i know nothing about that is not even that light. This bike is a homage to my favourite colour and to compoents i find interesting. Like the carbon fibre downtube shifters made by modolo. They weigh 37g and have a reputation for breaking.

It should be under 6.5kg when done maybe under 6kg if do new wheels for it as the ones you see are bit heavy. Complete with tyres, tubes cassette the rear is 1125g and the front 802g. Skewers add 38g in total. They were another random ebay purchase. Sorry just winding ugo up there.

Is this going to be part of the hoard... ehmm, I mean collection or you have a cunning plan to get into "hill climb" time trials? The season is just about to commence although I doubt you'd make the Nationals this year...

There is good local open hill climb TT which I want to do for the first time. My club run one too but I think I am doing something really stupid that weekend a 12hr MTB race solo and hadleigh Park. That course is scarey enough in the day but a night.

a hoard is a proper description of what I have. Must enter some hill climb TT's now.

Right I have made some progress. The bars are on and I have decided that the mavic mech is not shiney enough to use but I have a Dura Ace 7800 RD. I put the Extralite pulley wheels in it and last night bought a carbon cage and some purple bolts for it.
current weight of the mech is 163g. The main pivot bolt has been replaced with a purple alloy one.

I need to get black powercordz cables as I am unsure if the red works. I have not connected or cut them yet.
The silver front and rear mechs though somehow dont look right. I was bidding on a Campagnolo record 10 speed rear mech but the price went far too high for me. I cant get a new one from any of the distributors now either. Do I have to get a more modern one? 2010 record FD's and RD's are still available trade. I could buy one of them I suppose but that goes against the theme (I did not plan it that way) of parts bin and ebay s/h finds for the main components.

Schmolke bars fitted and Saevid Alien Saddle is on. The bike weighs 6.11kg currently so I have to do is enter that hill climb now.
Saddle to handlebar drop is 125mm.

It is done. Ultralite Cirrus pedals arrived these weigh 77g/pair! not very sensible though but it is a hill climb bike. Bar tape on and logo's lined up. Got the front tyre on the wrong way round though bugger.
Weight is 6.22kg. Now all I need is for my entry into the RTTA hill climb at Matlock to be approved and it will have a purpose!
Also carbon Ti is something I am working on bringing back to the u.k. Hense I have there top cap.
