Hi all.

I've currently got a Carrera Kracken 2012 (HT) which has been a pretty decent bike (a dozen or so trail days) but I've been offered a Giant Yukon FX2 (FS) from 2009 from a mate who doesn't ride and its just sat in his garage. The groupset is the same and I would be replacing the brakes with my own. Shock is ok now its pumped up. On paper it seems like a good deal, however the crank arm is broken so I would look at replacing both the BB and crankset to be sure. It seems like a fairly cheap way to enter the full sus game but I'm having a few doubts. What do you guys think? I'm really sat on the fence about it.

Cheers

    A swap or buying?

Depends on the condition etc. Broken crank is not a good sign.

Had a pretty rubbish for to start off with, so it won't have improved with age.

    So unless it's very cheap...

    I wouldn't.

  • It's a pure swap, one for one. That's what is putting me off. I think someone has had a go trying to get the BB out but has used a screwdriver and a hammer as there are a few tool marks around it.
