I am looking to convert my current 2x11 set up to 1x11 using a narrow wide chain ring.

I have done a little research and have found the hope retainer ring, superstar components IO chain ring or Q rings QCX1.

It is to fit on a Shimano CX50 Crankset.

Any recommendations or suggestions of similar products that I have missed or that you particularly recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Joe

Superstars are the best - cheapest and have more options for 5 bolt cranks

Race Face from CRC are good value too.
Heard lots of people having problems dropping chains with Q rings so wouldn't bother as risk outweighs any benefit.

On the flip side, I've been running Q rings on my MTB's for the past 2 years or so and have never dropped a chain. Ran one on the CX bike as well with no chain drop issues either.

Will you be using a standard rear mech or a clutch one? A friend recently converted his to 1x and used a SRAM mech with Shimano brifters, seems to work well.
  • I settled with a sram cx1 ring, works very well with my standard ultegra mech and shifters.
