Boulder CO, Walker Ranch- heading out from from IL

My buddy and I are heading out to boulder then down to Salida. We are planning on riding walker ranch while in Boulder. Can anyone tell me where to park and enter the ranch? Is there any other trails that are a "must" while in Boulder? Any stops like bike shops or brew pubs?

    Never ridden in or around Boulder but used to go out there as worked for a US company with HQ there.
    Fantastic place, quite quirky but great nightlife given university. In and around Pearl street is the main area with loads of bars including micro breweries.
