SRAM 22 shifters with 10 groupset

I'm almost there with a full SRAM force 22 groupset. All that's now missing until it all gets put on is the SRAM force 22 shifters.

I already have 10 speed Force shifters and just wondered before i pull the trigger on the 11 speed set, are they really necessary?

Would my Force 10 speed shifters work fine with the rest being 11 speed?

Did Google the sh*t of this question before posting this, but not clear

    What you need to do is buy an 11 speed cassette and fit it to your wheel as the 10 speed derailleurs will automatically default to 11 speed shifting pull ratios and work perfectly. I upgraded both of my road bikes to SRAM 11 speed simply by changing the 10 speed shifters and putting an 11 speed cassette on.

    I do hope you haven't wasted your money ditching SRAM 10 speed derailleurs?

    No still got 10 speed derailleurs, was just about to buy 11 speed versions today!

    So i would need the 11 speed shifters then?

    If you have 10 speed derailleurs, adding 11 speed shifters and an 11 speed cassette will make it a full 11 speed set up. No need to change the chainrings/crankset either.
