That stage was dull and wet in both senses of the word.

    Nice ride by Carthy!

    Pretty thin field though...

Qunitana is obviously concerned about Carthy on the Tour..... hope Froome and Berti haven't been blind sided by this.
'Performance analysis and Froome not being clean was a media driven story. I haven’t heard one guy in the peloton say a negative thing about Froome, and I haven’t heard a single person in the peloton suggest Froome isn’t clean.' TSP

When Carthy does get to ride his first GT - hopefully this year's Vuelta - be interesting to see how he gets on

Watching this on German Eurosport with Hatch and Magnus.
Liking this circuit. A very pretty, rolling 18km course on small roads in the heart of agriculture Gers region. Very much like a good nationals course.
I can think of worse ways to spend a mindless couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon.

Hugh Carthy crashes with 4 kms left in the race.
    Demare takes the stage win.

Shame, that. He did so well on Saturday to get up to a podium place.
    Still a cracking performance, though.

    Gutting for Hugh
"My teammates put me in a good position before the final climb but as we started climbing, a rider from Direct Energie dragged me by my saddle, which caused me to collide with another rider and crash. I didn't suffer any serious injuries. I'm only battered, bruised and disappointed."

Nice to see my man Nairo looking in good form...
