Hi all,
I will need a set of head bearings top + bottom (top is fine but bottom needs replacing, so fresh pair it is)
What bearings do I need and what make do you recommend ?
Bike: Giant Anthem X2 2013 with RockShox Reba RL w/ 15mm Thru-Axle, Tapered Steerer, 100mm fork.
Many thanks,
Chris

Unfortunately Giant do not list the headset model or standard. Can you read any model names off it? The bearings themselves usually have codes on them too.0

If there is something written I should be able to read it on the top one, bottom one has some rust so can't tell.

The top and bottom bearings are different. The size is probably marked on the seals.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Hi.
I replaced the bearing on my Anthem 2013 and it was these FSA Orbit 1.5 ZS Tapered Steerer.

But you would still be best checking.0 -

I know the size is different. Nothing on the seals.0 -
Best bet may be to take into a shop for a match, or measure - some good info here:

Take the bearings out and go to your local bearing shop, they'll measure them for you.
Don't get cheap bearings, go for SKF, NSK, FAG or Koyo.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Just in case somebody needs them, here are the correct bearings:

A photo isn't much help to anyone looking for the correct size. A number is needed to get the right size. Those could be any one of about a dozen sizes.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Is enough info there to order them (and look up the size for alternatives) - 873s is also known as the MR054S as TH list a model number and item number. And likewise the MR127 (TH-073E). These numbers correspond to a specific sizing.0

Is it not?
Well, my LBS measured my old rusted bearings and they ordered them having sizes etc, so I think it should be enough.
Also, when I asked a question here, I was told to check whats written on the original bearings....
However, I should have a number somewhere.

Ah yes. I can just about read the writing on them.
They're a very cheap brand. Don't expect them to last too long.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Ain't they an odd size 1"1/5 bottom and 1" 1/25 top ?

Giant only used that size top bearing on the 2013 / 2014 Trance.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
