Quiet day for the forum
Twitter to be awash with doping calculations.

Ovechkin early leader at 31.36. Anyone care to speculate on the winning time?

Is this like in The Price is Right, where you have to get as close as possible without going over? If so, I'll go with 1 second...

I'm looking forward to seeing what Primož Roglič does. He's on the course now.

I don't think there'll be any sub 29 min. In 2007 in full EPO days at the MTT to Oropa the winner (Bruseghin) did just under 29 minutes. The elevation difference was slightly less (750 mt vs 800) but the TT was a bit longer 12.5 Km vs 10.8. On balance I expect the two to be comparable and I'd be surprised to see them going quicker than in the EPO days.

For the record I tried the course in 2007 ahead of the PROs and did just under 50 minutes... 8)

28'39 for Alexander Foliforov of Gazprom. Maybe we were too conservative.

Or maybe we overestimate the impace of antidoping in sport. Interesting ATM the first two come from the soviet block

How did David Lopez do? He did the climb in 27:15, beating the previous Strava kom by 3 minutes as well as a few other Giro riders.

Polish heritage for Dombrowski (I think). That's enough for Ugo.

I have a negative bias for Russian athletes, I think it's understandable, given the recent scandals... I had one for Spanish athletes, but I am getting over it, slowly... :D
