Most of you know my bike...

imagejpg1-6.jpg

It's a rare Imholz, really rare, well it was the only one (apart from one from 1937) on the web, until I tracked down this...

DSC04309.jpg

As it has Shimano dropouts...

DSC04301.jpg

I am going to build it up for Mrs T to 'match' my bike (his 'n' hers, how cute is that) but using Shimano kit...

DSC04313.jpg

Here are the bits collected so far, Shimano 600 Arabesque derailleurs and NOS weinmann brakes to match mine

DSC04348.jpg

DSC04329.jpg

Most parts have been sourced except the wheels, any thoughts on these will be appreciated, Probably going to be a lengthy build, due to postal times for parts, but not as long as Matthew's, I hope :D

maybe he is smarter than we credit him with this ageing process.

Should be a nicely finished bike, if you get bored I'll buy yours

I feel that it shall age well, like a cheese. Anyhow, it's (essentially) finished now - just got to adjust rear mech.

More importantly, T47's new play thing is lush. Very nice indeed - chapeau! Keep us updated on this one.

My postman is really into building bikes so he makes special trips to my house whenever he spots a parcel in the depot addressed to me :D

He called by last night with another part 'cos he knew I wouldn't want to wait until the next day...

I think I have tracked down all parts now, except I'm one hub short of a wheelset :D

Anyone know/spot one for sale/steal one/point me in the right direction/have a Shimano 600 large flange front hub?

Edit: 100mm hub standard size front axle

Yeah, I saw that one and thought...bargain, then I read on and saw it was a 90mm hub, I need a standard 100mm, but thanks for trying to find me one.

I should have said the size

Thank you for finding two more!

At the risk of sounding ungrateful... the one on pedlar is a low flange and I don't know enough about Shimano hubs to tell whether the dura ace one on v-velo is the same as a 600, I know that 600 became 600ex and ax and dura ace but not sure if they are just name changes, my rear hub...

I have emailed them a couple of questions.

    Cheers!

Next parcel arrived today, quite rare to find them with their adjusters intact, gave the levers a bit of a polish up...

    DSC04374.jpg

The pedals arrived too, more on those later :D

Sweeeeeet. Do you have a secret polishing technique or is it just lots of Solvol and elbow grease?
