Evans Cannondale Synapse Carbon gamble

I have decided I very much want a yellowy Ultegra disc version of the Synapse, but missed it when Evans had them for £2124 earlier this year.

My workplace usually has a online voucher system which works out at 10% off, but for the next two days this is enhanced to 15%.

I have a crazy idea of spending £1805.40 on £2124 worth of card, in the hope that it comes down again at some point this year.

Now I have checked, and I can't get a refund on the card after 2 weeks, BUT it is valid for 2 years.

This would all hinge on them having the bike in a sale, AND having it in stock in the size and colour I want.

As I can buy a card at 10% off at anytime, this would only translate to a £100 saving really, so am thinking this is perhaps too much of a longshot?

I have a sneaking suspicion it is a strong selling bike, and offers might be few and far between, but no way I would shell out 2.5K for one.

Risking 1800 to save 100 sounds like a proper sensible gamble to me... especially on an event you have no control over.
Why not put the 1800 on Leicester to win the premier league, collect your winnings by next weekend and buy the bike you want then.

Yes fair enough. I did think I could potentially sell the code on for what I paid, but it's a bit of a faff I guess.

Wait, then spend when the disc di2 version is cheap.
Or wait til SRAM eTap disc is available and then spend.

Or stick the 1800 in a savings account. In the 2 years the voucher would be valid you should have made the 5% difference

Thanks BTR, will keep my eyes peeled - noticed that even a few months ago, and maybe even now, last years model could be had for £2000 ish on a 20% reduction etc and not too far away either: http://www.primera-sports.com/cannondale-2015-synapse-carbon-ultegra-disc-road-bike.html

Evans is favourite due to the other 10% I can save, but if I can beat the deal elsewhere, then so be it - 40% would be lovely, though I feel unlikely.

Trouble is, the one I have fallen for is the Neon Spring colour, and that only comes on the Ultegra bike as far as I am aware - not an issue as I love Ultegra, and it's probably way too good for me already.
Just checked the DI2 one, and not only is it £750 more, but it is also a limey green colour.
Sram Etap on the other hand could be a drawer, especially as I am getting on pretty will with the Rival on my Synapse.
But the colour is more important for me, groupsets can be changed when they wear out, repaints especially for carbon frames, seems to be a far more expensive and tricky affair.

Email epic cycles and ask for their everyday fair price, seems to be a couple hundred reduction on standard prices.
