This is my XC race bike, a 2016 Giant Anthem 2
I changed the wheelset because the stock rims were not really good

    Upgrade last week to 1x10 with Sunrace 11-42 cassette and narrow wide chainring, also a flat bar, now waiting a new garmin mount to slam the stem.

    I had an Anthem for a year. Great bike, didn't really see it as much of a race bike though. A bit heavy for a race bike and more trail friendly than races geometry.

    I feel the same, I wanted a trail bike but I joined a XC club and races, and I enjoyed it !

    Sunrace cassette? Give us first impressions about shifting, is it working or not?
    Last year I had TREK superfly fs, FS is faster everywhere except standup sprints and standup climbs.

    Shifting is ok, back pedaling on 42 make the chain going down, but my chain-line is not optimal. There is no reason to upgrade to 1x11 when you can have this cassette for £54. Got mine from bike-discount.de
