Giant Defy/Enigma Evade geometries

Would I be right in saying that these two bikes are pretty much identical? Stack/reach figures are the same, only major difference being the HT length. Subtle differences but would I find the Defy to be pretty similar given that I can test ride one but not the Evade?

    Didn't you own a Defy 0 in 2013, though IIRC it was the wrong size, too big? So if you are now comparing the Defy Medium to the Evade Geometry in 55cm and you say they are similar, though a smidge (1.5cm) lower for the Evade at the bars.

    The Evade chain stays are shorter so wheel base is shorter. Your suggestion to test ride a Med. Defy seems like a good one to see if the geometry suits you.

    I did have a Defy 0 in 2013 but a M/L which was too big so I sold it. Bought a Ribble 872 but finding that a bit uncomfortable over long distances. The annoying thing is I can't find stack/reach measurements for the 872 on line to compare to the Evade. I have tried an Echo which is pretty much identical to the Defy, only the chain stays are a little shorter and the TT 5 mm longer. 0.5 of a degree in the Seat angle but otherwise the same. Will attempt to measure the stack/reach of the 872 myself later.

    I take it that you are going for an "off the peg" Ti frame and not custom, so is the plan to match the geometry of the Ribble 872 bike to the Ti Evade if possible?

    Yes, off the peg as I am pretty average build wise. Not sure I want to match the Ribble to be honest, would like to be in a bit more upright position. Currently riding the Ribble with a flipped stem which is not ideal.

    Ribble R872 is identical geometry wise to the De Rosa R838. For stack and reach just google "De Rosa R838 geometry" simples!

    Doing the stack divideded by reach calculation the Ribble comes out at 1.40 as opposed to 1.50 for the Evade so the Evade is indeed a more relaxed than the Ribble.
