1] You go out for a ride and leave your ultra-warm-but-breathable, windproof, water repellent, clima-protection all-singing, all dancing winter jacket at home.

2] You've swallowed your first insect of the year. Double points if it was a bumble bee.*

3] Post ride, you discover exposed bits of you have turned from white to pale pink.


Well, two out of three isn't bad...

*It was something small and gnatty today, if anyone's wondering. But I have actually caught a bumble bee in my mouth, more than once.

    Snow on the first day of the cricket season is also traditional.

    However, I think it's only really spring when you start seeing orange tip butterflies, http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species. ... cardamines and it's not really summer until you stop seeing them. Mid April to mid June, roughly.

    A wasp stung me on the tongue today. Nearly caused a crash. How many points is that?
