Specialised FSR - what is it?

Afternoon all,
A quick bit of advice if I may.
I've just acquired a Specialised FSR - being a sad skinny roadie I have no idea what it is or what it is worth.
Piccies are below.

Spec is:

XT front mech
SRAM SX5 rear mech
Fox Racing rear shock
The forks have no manufacturers labels but have compression and rebound damping (well, the adjusters are there). Forks legs are anodised black and unmarked, no leaks from seals
Hayes Sole discs front and rear
Race Face Diablus headset
SRAM X7 rear shifter
Impulse front shifter

Any info on worth/whether its any good very, very much appreciated.

    Wow, that thing must ride awful. Those forks are completely wrong for the frame.
    The frame should have 100mm - 120mm travel forks, those are 200mm and intended to be fitted to a downhill bike, not an xc bike.
    It's extremely unlikely anyone would buy it as a bike. Split it and sell separately.
    It's all quite old and not worth much.

    Looks like around 1999/2000. Has it had V brake bosses removed? That caliper mount at the back looks home made.

    Cost nothing so even a tenner in the piggy back is a result.

    Back in the day that was a pretty tasty frame, as stated though the forks are totally wrong, it could be made into a fairly nice XC FS bike if it's in good condition.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    It's actually really nice and clean - a few scratches but no dings or dents.

    Any of you guys fancy it? Just cluttering up my workshop wall as it hangs there.......

    After its been ridden with those forks I wouldn't touch it.
    That frame was never designed to take the loads a fork of that length can generate. The downhill forks also suggest it's been ridden hard.

    I read the downhill forks, total mismatch of parts and lack of wheels as definitely stolen at somepoint in its life, sure fire sign that some scumbag has had his grubby mitts on it at somepoint. Not pointing the finger at the OP btw!!!

    Most bikes I see like this have forks on like so kids can look cool when they ride to the shops. I am sure the owner now is easily capable of giving it a good check over.

    Agree with S: around here there isn't really any bike theft as its all a bit middle class: it's more than likely that the bike has the forks on it to look cool/because the guy got them cheap.

    No stress marks on the headstock area, no paint cracks, any of the normal associated with undue stress.

    It's an Ali frame as well so no worries re the same as you'd get with carbon.

    Full movement with no notching from the headstock also signifies no mis-shaping of the headstock/bearing seats.

    If anyone can think anything else I should check to help any potential purchasers then please shout - all comments more than welcome!

    95% sure the fork's a Marzocchi Junior T. They weren't great, or particularly expensive new, might be able to get £50ish for it on a good day.

    They look like Junior t's. Terrible fork, worth £10 - £20 maybe, on a good day.

    What something is 'worth' and what some people are happy to 'pay' don't always equate, I've often got far more for something on evilbay than I thought it was worth!
