I have it on good authority that the chancellor will be addressing salary sacrifice schemes in the budget tomorrow, personally I think it's unlikely to hit Pensions, ride to work or childcare vouchers, but suspect it will be aimed at clipping the wings of some of the more underhand tax avoidance schemes like car leasing but it's not impossible that Ride to work will be impacted in some way (maybe even improving it to an HP rather than rental......).
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

  • I live in hope that they improve the financial benefits of these schemes, even if that means there are tighter checks on bikes bought with the LOC complying with the minimum number of commutes per week (2?).

The transfer of ownership "fair price" stipulated by HMRC for bikes bought new at <£500 or >£500 has pretty much neutralised the benefits of these schemes for lower end tax payers, in my opinion.
