Can you ride with both a trailer & panniers?

Afternoon all,

The instructions for my back bicycle rack states that you should not use in conjunction with a bicycle trailer but it seems possible to attach them both to the bicycle.

I was wondering why they mention this & if anyone else rides/has ridden with both panniers/back bike rack and a bicycle trailer attached?

    surely it depends how the trailer attaches ...

    some attach to the seat post
    some attach to the seat stay
    some attach to the axle/quick-release (like mine)

    I've ridden with the rack and a trailer - but not with panniers on and the trailer (my trips were short ones with my son in the trailer)

    I ride with both, not a problem.

    My trailer attaches at the axle, so no issue also having panniers/rack/other child seat.
