Fulfilling the 'dream' of owning another Evo after I bought a 54cm Evo back in 2013 and found it way to small. It did however ride beautifully smooth and fast and I liked the seated power transfer.

In the mean time moved to South Devon, realised riding here that what goes up must continue going up so replacing my Defy Advanced SL after 20 months of ownership >

with this. 56mcm frame, 3T inline post, 3T bars and stem, 165mm DA cranks, Praxis adaptor, Ultegra front/rear mech and shifters, Ultegra pedals, DA brakes, Specialized HD bar tape, Specialized power saddle, Mavic Ksyrium Elite 2015, Giant PSL1 25mm tyres, taxc cages, Garmin 520. Re-cycled some already owned bits too.

Overall delighted. Stiff, strong, light, fast ; pick 4. Will no doubt stead me in good fast for Dartmoor shown in my picture below, at the top of Haytor. First use of classic D bars, really like em' - just adapting to the fit and feel. Dinner plate cassette as I am not a climber. Big arms you see, Devon life = suns out, guns out ha ha ha. :lol::lol: Cheers !

  • Very nice. I seem to recall having bought a Super Six recently. It would be nice to use it at some point.

I hear you - even with my Defy, winner of Paris - Roubaix 2015, this January has been a write off with water coming up to the BB height. Best avoided, unless you like killing bikes.
  • Looks fast!

Can i ask what 3t bars they are?

Looks nice, but I'm biassed as I like 'Dales.

A 54 this time, with Ultegra. Finishing kit is Fizik Cyrano R1, bar the stem which is the penny-pinch tastic KAlloy Uno with Ti Bolts. Saddle is Fabric ALM. Crank is changing to a Hollowgram once I liberate it from my CAAD10. Total cost minus recycling is coming in around the grand mark, which I can live with.
  • The proportions look odd. Is the saddle tiny?

    Lovely bike regardless.

Shot on my i-phone - lots of lens distortion making the bike look odd without decent glass and a zoom lens to compress the image.

Yes, the power saddle from Specialized, removes the excess tip of the saddle and allows the rider to get low and on the drops rather well.

  • Nice looking bike. Got myself the grey/red combo.

I have a praxis adaptor on my mountain bike and it's been faultless.

Did you install the adaptor with anti-seize as per the praxis instructions or go with something else with it being a carbon bb shell.

A better angle showing the proportions of the frame. Love it !

    Looks great!
Mine is still in the box waiting to be built.
Got Chorus groupset to go on it :) and just trying to decide on some wheels to compliment the frame

How about some Campagnolo Neutron Ultra's ? Just nicely understated with the Chorus

Or if your going with Deda finishing kit

    or at
    http://www.probikekit.co.uk/bicycle-whe ... 16940.html
Easy enough to get an extra 10% off too at Ribble or PBK
But yeah the Fulcrums would look good.

Yes, as far as I am aware. I had a top drawer mechanic build it and he followed the Praxis instructions to the letter. So, either or grease etc - did not think to ask on collection, but talked through the build process and what not.

I would rule in the Wheelsmith or the fulcrum.

Gotta be honest, have become a huge fan of Mavic Ksyrium elite as stiff, light (ish) strong and for a 'throw away' wheel which factory wheels are, sub £500, maybe sub £400 on a deal is enough wheel for me nowadays. These will be replaced by the new wider elites once they have had their day but these have done approx. 1000 miles and have a lot of riding in them yet.

  • I have 3 Cannondales two EVOs and one Super Six purchased over 4 years.
One EVO bottom bracket had some play in bottom bracket bearings/ housing. The bike frame has approximately 20,000 miles.
After removing crank I found the press fit bearings to be OK but the housing they are in totally shot. The bottom bracket bore is also worn. According to local shop this not a warranty as bike was used when bought.
This is not repairable! So I have a useless frame. Note I weigh 145lbs so not heavy.
    Any suggestions??

Nope, other than try a praxis BB if it'll fit the worn BB are ? or its upgrade time.

????? Has the material actually worn away around the bottom bracket shell ? The BB diameter on the Evos PF 30 is 46 mm I think, I originally bought a Praxis 30-24 adapter to run Shimano on mine , but it was only 40 mm diameter .

I eventually got a Wheels Manufacturing one which is 46 mm . The BB30 bearings were removed and then this slides in and the two halfs thread into one another, absolubtly no play in it after near 18 months so far. I think the fact that it screws together each half meanas it could be torqued up to sit hard against the BB faces, and the fact that it appears slightly ( only very slightly) tapered, means it could potentially sit in the shell securely even if the bore is worn.

Don't know what crankset you are using , But I would build up the BB shell inner surface with something. Loctite or some kind of silicone resin , then give this style of BB adapter ( one that threads together in the middle ) a bash.

Thanks ! Yes, the feel great and you can cup the shifters in a different way and ride well. I might raise them by about 2mm and rotate the bar slightly too, but going to get a few miles in and see how it is.

I ride classic Ds on two of my bikes (a modern take of the classic D on the 3rd!) and I have the drop angled slightly towards the rear hub. It's personal preference, of course.
