Windy Monday - Yellow warning

So looking ahead for the weeks weather I noticed that Monday brings a yellow warning.

Heavy rain and wind gusts over 51 mph. Last months wind was a little hairy at times.

Morning commute is fine, but with heavy rain, gusts and even poorer visibility for us cyclists will be worse,
I'm debating to man down and take the tube in, considering the tube strike is now called off.

Whats your thoughts on this commuters :) HTFU? or stay alive?

    Tomorrow? Stay alive. And, because our students are on a study and assessment week, and there's no assessment tomorrow, come home early and make sure our child minder doesn't have to take the youngest, in his pram, to pick the rest up from school.

    Our peak gusts are forecast to be 70 mph. That's too much.

    Sailing to work and grinding home is how it's been for the past month, so nothing new. Plus ça change, innit?

    Oh, this one's a bit special. I was pedalling to go downhill one day last week. I reckon, tomorrow, if I caught a gust in the same place I'd be pushed back up.

    yeah i saw that, we had 50+ today and it was very very hard going, god only know what speeds it was Sat I hid indoors - i'll make my judgement call in the morning.

    That's average peak gusts as well. Rogue ones will be worse.

    In the Highlands I measure winds by how many roof tiles we lose. The one last week was a "FIVE"

    well Im still in two minds, granted a fresh laundered kit to work is calling.

    Decided I will take the tube on this instance as the last time I cycled home in a storm, the hail that lashed me felt I was being pebble dashed alive. Wasn't a nice feeling.

    We've been upgraded to amber.
    Given my route either takes along a long road on top of a quite tall, but very exposed hill, which is renounced for its cyclist danger, im not going to risk it.
    Yes, a 51mph average WSW gust will ensure that I top out my pb on the way home, but being alive isn't worth the pb attempt!
    Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.
    Bike 1 (Broken) - Bike 2(Borked) - Bike 3(broken spokes) - Bike 4( Needs Work) - Bike 5 (in bits) - Bike 6* ...

    Was out Friday eve so left the bike at work. So I get none of the PBs in, and the headwind home :roll:

    80mph gusts down here in the south west. Chapeau to the guy who was riding to work in it. Nutter.

    Really was fine down embankment.

    Had much worse commutes down there.

    It was square on headwind and not all that gusty.

    #overrated.

    Unpleasant both ways (N London to West End) but not unrideable. A certain element of grip of death on the bars at times (not helped by today's bike having bullhorns), and the rain at one thirty was unpleasant.

    I do front brake on and lift the rear wheel to get the pedal back into place thing when I stop at the lights, as I'm on a fixed gear.

    Tried that yesterday. Rear wheel lifted and was suddenly 3 ft sideways due to the wind. Poxy Canary Wharf wind tunnels.
