Saddle upgrade for Scott Aspect 950

Hey guys
I just bought the Scott Aspect 950
And its a good bike
However the saddle is rock hard!
I just have to change it
I cannot wear riding shorts at all times because i also use my bike for regular commuting such as going to college etc.
Im thinking of getting a gel saddle
How about the Bontrager Commuter Gel?

Soft saddles feel comfortable for very short rides, but lack support, or support in the wrong places.I don't do smileys.

Experiment really until you find one that fits your shape. Decent bike shops will be able to measure your sit bones and recommend one the right size, which will probably be quite expensive.

^^^^ This,what suits 3 people might not suit the forth,the other way is to try and find a cheap used saddle as in the one you want and try it,then if it's not right you can sell it on and try something else,can be bit of a faff to find the right one,as they are a personal choice,some shops do have test saddles,so you can try before you buy0 -
I had an uncomfortable saddle on my previous specialized bike, I was advised that it would break in soon enough so I persevered with it for +500 miles...
It was just as uncomfortable after that as when it was new!
My latest ride has a fizik seat on; looks the business, cleans up a treat, stupidly light and most of all its comfortable straight from new!0 -

Okay so all these seat fitting facilities are not available here
You just gotta buy it and cant even return it if you don't like it
So i think i might be safe going with the gel saddle for now

Saddles are personal preference but if you google "comfy saddles" etc you will get a good idea of which saddles offer better comfort than others - charge Spoon and SDG Bel Air to name a few0

I got the Bontrager gel saddle
It seems comfortable
Even though there is still slight pain lurking from the use if the default saddle
But i guess that will recede eventually
The seller has given me the privelage of returning it if it's not comfortable

Saddles are too personal to go by recommendations.
A lot of people like the Charge Spoon but for me it's like a torture device.

With a touch of kismet I'm in Pune right now with two charge spoon saddles that carried a colleague and I to the Indian Ocean yesterday (99.4 miles according to Strava) in total comfort.
You could try a Specialised concept store, they can measure you up and get a saddle that fits, you don't want a soft saddle, you want one that fits you and has just enough padding. The Spoon is much recommended as it seems to fit nearly everyone, it's a generic saddle available under other names such as the Madison Flux, whether one is sold in India or via DX or Aliexpress I don't know.
You need to toughen up the muscles over your sit bones, apart from skin soreness it is them that will hurt usually.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
